Known as the “Village Beautiful", Miami Shores sits in the center of South Florida and its gorgeous weather. It is a lush residential village, with very few multi-family units and a sizeable retired population. Developed in the 1920s, Miami Shores is known for its small town feel and variety of Art Deco and Mediterranean Revival-style homes. Bayfront vistas, quaint churches, and wide, tree-lined streets are all part of Miami Shores' charm. The village is mostly single family residential, with only two small commercial areas along Northeast 2nd Avenue and Biscayne Boulevard. This community hosts arts and cultural events throughout the year, and is home to the Miami Shores Country Club, Miami Shores Aquatic Center, the Miami Theater Center, and Barry University.
